Praise on the Farm Artist Profiles

Y-Knot (Formerly Heart to Heart)

Y-Knot has been rockin' for several years now, always eager and willing to share the great news of Jesus Christ through instruments and song. But that's not all!! While Y-Knot has been ministering in music throughout the Chicagoland area churches, they also perform at non-church venues performing Classic rock, country, original compositions and specialty arrangements of your favorite G-rated classics such as Crossroads, Shine, Proud Mary, as well as many of today's popular songs....and occasionally a few surprises! They perform for outdoor venues, festivals and parades as well as churches and private parties. Their fun style and energy, combined with some pretty talented musicians make any event they play for a memorable one. The secret to their success is their ability to laugh, have fun, adapt to their audience, not take life too seriously and be prepared for anything! Well....mostly anything!

Meet The Band:

Jeanine M Weintz (Lead Vocals) has been singing, song writing as well as leading praise and worship for almost 24 years. She has served as a small church, contemporary praise & worship liaison, assisting churches in structuring and establishing their own worship teams. Jeanine has performed for non-church venues, including the Republican Inaugural Ball 1994, Caesars Palace is Las Vegas 1998, Pride of the Fox Fest and was the winner of the 1998 Starmania Vocal Competition. Jeanine has sung the National Anthem for the Kane County Cougars and many other patriotic events. Jeanine's personal music and songwriting combine her life experiences with compassion, encouragement and that hand of your shoulder feel. Her CD, Crucified Hero, reaches into the humanity of the soul, touching on subjects such as forgiveness ("Letting Go"). Her most recent song ('Independence") speaks to the struggle of trying to go it alone. She has been compared to singers such as Twila Paris, Grace Slick, Linda Ronstadt, Carrie Underwood....yet Jeanine will be to first to tell you, "I just sing like me."

Gerry Cote (Electric Guitar): Gerry has been playing since he was a young, budding Rock Star (in his own mind, anyway). Gerry went to California in his early 20s in pursuit of his dream and ended up landing stand in acting gigs in shows such a Happy Days, T.J. Hooker, Chips, Thornbirds, the movie Splash and, believe it or not, Gerry was on the Dating Game..and won! Gerry is our guitar player, comic and master of the 20-minute guitar solo! He is absolutely hilarious, totally unpredictable and will always have a smile on his face. Gerry's thoughts "vocals are just unnecessary space between guitar solos."

Dean Rakstang (Bass guitar): Dean has been playing bass for many years, using his talents in both church and non-church venues. In addition to being the bass player for Y-Knot, Dean currently plays at Harvest Bible Chapel. Dean loves playing bass and is a rockin player. Whether a complex series of instrumentation or a steady bass riff, Dean plays with precision skill and is indeed rock steady!

Lou Passaretti (Drums) Lou has been playing drums since he was a teenager (and still has that youthful look). Lou plays with great skill, has good rhythm, and he has the talent to keep the rhythm going. His drumming style can only be described as thunderous and explosive when Lou sits behind those drums. Whether raw, aggressive or kick back, Lou knows how to bring it!

Y-Knot is currently writing, collaborating and recording their new, original songs whose release is scheduled sometime in 2012!

Endeavor

Though we want to convey the most important message of all time, the gospel, we want to do it in a way that speaks to the many who grew up on the music of the ‘60s and ‘70s. There are countless bands out there, many exceptional, playing contemporary Christian music, bands you might hear on KLOVE, for example. That is not us. We are trying to appeal to a broader audience with music that has just a bit more guts and vibe.

We came up with many different name possibilities for Endeavor, all based on the idea that there would be a unique group of players working together to write, record and play encouraging music. We ultimately chose "Endeavor" based on Eph. 4:3, "Endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace."

Endeavor is all about collaboration, a loose affiliation of musicians with members who range in age from 18 (Nathaniel Hirschler) to some in their 50s (I won't mention any names). This broadens our musical vocabulary and is a testament to what can be accomplished across generations when a group has other things in common, such as a commitment to excellence, a love for music with a great vibe, and a common faith. If you're a musician and you are interested in what we are doing, look us up. Let's jam and see where it goes.

Endeavor started about four years ago when Thomas (Hirschler) received a guitar from his wife Melody as a surprise gift for their 25th anniversary. It wasn't just any guitar. It was a Taylor. The first day he had it, he wrote his first song. Since then, he has written nearly 60 songs. Though he had sung in various groups from high school until today (choirs, worship teams, etc.), he had no idea a simple gift would be the start of something completely different and new.

Endeavor plays acoustic, acoustic rock, folk, folk rock, indie and blues with a Christian message. The music is in the flavor of the timeless classic rock of the ‘60s and ‘70s, with a little James Taylor, Karen Carpenter, and J.S. Bach thrown in for good measure. All with a thought-provoking, encouraging message.

There is simply no more effective or powerful way to communicate than music. Music reaches straight to the heart, bypassing most of the emotional fences we construct. Check out Endeavor.

The Lisa Weyerhaeuser Band

Lisa Weyerhauser

Lisa Weyerhaeuser combines a reflective musical spirit with a deep love of God to forge a fresh and original style. Her music is an outgrowth of her Christian walk and her life experiences. The Lisa Weyerhaeuser Band has performed at the Cornerstone festival, Lifest, the Joyful Noise Music Festival, Fisherman's Fest, Rocketown, Cup of Joy, and has shared the stage with a variety of artists including Phil Keaggy, Cheri Keaggy, Larry Norman, Tammy Trent, Whitecross, and Glenn Kaiser. Her CD, Faith Journey, expresses her thoughts on many subjects, like who God is ("You Are"), lost loved ones ("I Want to See You There"), and motherhood ("The Best Things in Life"). In each selection she proclaims the fundamental truths of Jesus.

Her more recent CD 'Life on Earth' is an album that touches on a variety of subjects. The sublime to comical. It is an expression of how Christians should live life on earth.

On "Life on Earth" reviewer Larry Norman writes:
"Lisa Weyerhaeuser is not a teenager, but she is full of life. I've known this girl for many years, and she is totally honest. In fact, her music, like her lacks artifice and guile. So this music is as pure in motive as you will hear in in today's Christian music scene." "Lisa's music simply declares the things that are good and pure and true, a place where I wish all contemporary Christian music would reside."

Trees of the Field

Trees of the Field is a three piece rock worship band trying to glorify God in all they do. Whether through their music or their actions, God is #1. Consisting of Steve Mitchell on vocals and bass, Jason Anderson on guitar and Brad Boyle on drums. Their music is edgy and raw and most of all heart felt. The band has been recording original songs as they're written and hope to have a CD out soon. While a worship band through and through, Trees of the Field aren't afraid to take it to the streets playing anywhere from a Sunday service to a 4th of July bash singing His praises to who ever will listen.

Will Kruger

Guitarist, singer/songwriter and entertainer. Will's been pick'n and singing since the age of 14. He brings a unique sense of clarity and a strong emphasis to the lyrical content of his selections of songs. His musical roots go back to the folk era where influence from the likes of Peter Paul & Mary, Simon & Garfunkel, John Denver and James Taylor has shaped his musical style.

As an adult Will spent 15 years as a professional entertainer playing in restaurants, taverns and coffee houses in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. During this period he felt there was something missing in his life. "A friend that I had come to know would witness to me about this man Jesus and his unconditional love. He lent me a John Michael Talbot tape that really touched my heart and communicated the Lord's message to me."

Will began his growth as a Christian over the next couple of years but couldn't quite let go and let God have total domain. That is, until he was in a bible study group and read Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight." With that verse, Will understood what he had missed. With faith and trust in God, He has a plan for us. He committed his life to the Lord and was baptized along with Chris his wife of 34 years. Will and Chris have two sons, Jared who is an Army captain and curently deployed in Afghanistan and Jason a forth year cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point Class of 2010. Will and Chris are are members of The Chapel of Lake County Illinois and involved in church ministries.

Will has always been attracted to the simplicity, message and melodies of folk music accompanied by the acoustic guitar. Besides his home church he has lead worship service at Lord Of Glory Church in Grays Lake, Faith Lutheran Church, and Christ Lutheran Church in Mundelein. He has also toured the Midwest From North Platte Nebraska to Green Bay Wisconsin with the group "Folk In The Road," consisting of fellow soul-mates Lisa Weyerhaeuser and Michael Struck*.

His compassion for the music of the late John Denver has inspired him to put together a "Tribute To John Denver" to which he has performed in the Northern Illinois area over the past few years.

As a solo artist Will has performed at various coffee houses such as The Sanctuary in Chicago, E-Free Live in Des Plaines and Josiah's' Place in Beloit WI. He has also shared the stage at the Chicago District Camp Ground Association in Des Plaines with CCM legend Randy Stonehill and ore recently opened for CCM artist Chris Rice.

His hope is that through the music he plays, God's love will touch you as it has touched him.
